Throwback Thursday Returns!

Hello lovely readers!

If you've been following my blog, you know that Throwback Thursday was a weekly feature created here at The Kindled Scholar which highlighted bits and pieces of my bookish childhood. I haven't had a Throwback Thursday post in a very long time, but this is its return!

For this edition of Throwback Thursday, I'd like to do something a little different. Instead of me sharing my childhood favorites, I'd like YOU to post a comment with one of yours! Tell me about a favorite book, series, or character from your childhood, or share a favorite bookish memory. Click on the link to left (under Weekly Features) to see all the previous Throwback Thursdays to get some inspiration. Feel free to comment on this post or on one of the previous posts.

Ready? GO!

Love and (a book) light,

~Dorothy

  1. I loved those Enid Blyton books that featured gnomes and fairies and pixies and also her Naughtiest Girl series.

  2. I really liked The Chronicles of Prydain by Lloyd Alexander. It consisted of five books: The Book of Three, The Black Cauldron, The Castle Of Llyr, Taran Wanderer, and The High King. Disney released a movie version of The Black Cauldron, but it was so far removed from the book that it was practically a different story. If you are planning on watching this movie, please read the book first!

  3. One of my all time favorite books were the Vesper Holly series by Lloyd Alexander. His fantasy got more press but this series involved a female Indiana Jones of sorts. Loved them so much.

  4. Oh man, I had so many favorites when I was little. I loved the Chronicles of Narnia, Babysitter's Club, The Boxcar Children, and Goosebumps.

  5. Without a doubt my favourite books as a child were my Disney's Rhyming Readers series. These books were fantastic and the first book I ever read on my own was "Donald's Day in the Kitchen" (I brought it for show and tell to school). My daughters now love them and I have so much fun rereading them EVERY DAY! :)
